Old Business
Discussion of Handicapped Access – Mark not here to report. Howard Bonnemann has not been able to contact original architect as yet. Lynnette Taylor suggested contacting an elevator company to see if they would have any ideas on how to get an elevator in St. Paul’s. Lynnette will also talk with Mark to find out what information he has.
Mark Kratochvil was served with a summons as the legal agent for St. Paul’s concerning an abuse case from the 50’s. After investigation it was found that the summons should have gone to the church of St. Paul’s in Vermillion. All paper work has been sent to our insurance company.
Sunday Church Service nursery – an article will be in the newsletter asking for volunteers for a nursery service during church. It was noted that there will have to be background checks done.
New Business
The two big elms in front of the church have been taken down. Mary Lou Berry has ordered 2 oak trees from the city for replacement on the boulevard. Discussion followed concerning not replacing the trees since the view of St. Paul’s was “opened up”. Mary Lou will talk to the City and see if no trees are an option. If we don’t like the idea of not having boulevard trees, we can revisit the issue next year.
There has been a new tree planted in the Church yard.
Columbarium idea – Deacon Judy suggested that St. Paul’s might be interested in having a Columbarium (A vault with niches for urns containing ashes of the dead.) at St. Paul’s. She suggested the old entry way as a possible location. Discussion followed concerning costs, zoning and security.
